The menu consists of breakfast and lunch items. Each item has a name that correlates with school in some way. Be prepared to be satisfied and full. They will put their specials in chalk on the board, including dessert items. They only take cash.
great food, super atmosphere !
I love the setting - literally an old school house! Many school house decorations, too: big roll up maps, George Washington & Abe Lincoln pictures...The food was first rate and the service was excellent.
Delicious food, family friendly and family style seating in the middle for the small town delicious hidden gem check this out!
By far best breakfast around. Great atmosphere. Just an FYI it is Cash only.
Great food. Better yet, the owners! They are so friendly and accommodating.
Good food and big portions.
Very good. Get your money's worth, just being cash. They dont take cards.
Good home style food. Good price and big portions! Only bummer is the limited hours.
Good food and great service!!
Very good breakfast and reasonably priced. Cash or check only as they do not accept cards. It is an actual old school house that has been remodeled into what it is today, I would recommend it and will be back.

Great food, family friendly, and fantastic service! The restaurant was once an old school house and has a few relics from the past. Really fun place to explore! We drove from Rochester and will definitely be back! Cash only - no debit or credit cards accepted.
Great breakfast food, very unique atmosphere. Be aware they don't take plastic, so you may need to plan ahead.

Very good home made food . The wait time was a little long on some items but all and all the service was good . A very warm and friendly atmosphere . The "Seniors " will be back.
Our breakfast was amazing! Pancakes are huge and delicious! Also the French toast is delightful! Service was great!

Great food, very comfortable dining area. Highly recommend!
Great food and servers. Nice place!
Very good food and service; a short drive from Rochester. Take a trip to this historic little town of Mantorville and enjoy. We met a lovely couple married 65 years who volunteer here. Great inspiration to us married 50 years .
We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Old School Cafe. As a lifelong southeast Minnesota resident, I couldn't believe I had never heard of this place. The atmosphere is perfect for the small town setting and the surrounding gardens were beautiful in early June bloom. The opening salad was accompanied by an expert balance of dried cranberries, blue cheese, mandarin oranges, onion and ranch dressing. For dinner, I had the stuffed pork loin and my wife had the chicken cordon bleu. Both were the best examples of these dishes that either of us have tasted to date. The horseradish sauce that accompanied the pork was particularly excellent. Dessert was wonderful as well. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Very highly recommended and we look forward to going back!
We loved the south of the border omelette and the skillet breakfast. Great atmosphere with kind and welcoming staff!
Great staff, great food, great place.
Great place! Great breakfast, cash only.
Relaxed setting with good portion size. Very tasty meal!!
They are wonderful. Good portions and fair price. Great atmosphere. Got to try it!!!!
Charming little diner housed in an old, single-room schoolhouse. Delicious menu of breakfast items with option to "down size" to smaller portions.
Good food, made fresh. Family atmosphere where you feel like a friend. Fun decor, just like eating in an old school house.
My fiance and I found this place by accident, and we are so glad we did they have the best breakfast in Minnesota!!!
Went here for my birthday breakfast. It was our first visit, very impressed with the food, ample servings and delicious. This was an old Schoolhouse and nicely furnished.
Loved this place! Great idea for a restaurant, very hefty portions, great, smiling and helpful staff! Delicious food!
Nice old fashion feeling restaurant. Family owned and operated. Excellent service at reasonable price.
Big breakfast portions with great flavor and friendly service.
Breakfast was delicious, blueberry pancakes filled my plate. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff.
If you have never been to the old school cafe your life is not complete. This is my favorite place. The food is second to none. I love the eggs benedick!!!! Cheap prices!!!! The top notch most amazing staff ever. This is my #1 recommendation.
I have been frequenting this gem of a place since moving to Minnesota. Staff are friendly and they take pride in their customer service. Because I am prone to have allergic reactions, I normally stick to what works and not vear from my norm. This family owned business knows me so well, that I really don't have to place my order, they already know what I'll get.....two pancakes (which I never finish because they're so fluffy and filling) with lots of butter and a little syrup and green tea. Same thing every time and it's always delicious. My husband on the other hand tries something knew every visit. Either way, we love this quaint hometown gem and you will too. Just a note, they have specific hours and they only take cash.
